'GOING, GOING, GONDOLIERS!' GOES OVER BIG

A capacity audience gathered this evening at Westy Self Storage in Lake Success for "Going, Going, Gondoliers!: A Musical Salute to Italy." Benefiting the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island and its 2019 production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Gondoliers," the program featured more than a dozen of the company's top singers performing selections from Italian opera, Italian folk songs, Italian-American classics and--of course--selections from "The Gondoliers." A big crowd applauded frequently and cheered often; according to treasurer Jordan Breslow, it may have been the most profitable fund raiser the company has ever had.
