Original Theater

THE NEW PUNCTUATION ARMY

The New Punctuation Army is an original theater company that has led an intermittent but colorful life since 1984, staging productions of original shows in New York City and on Long Island.  Its major productions have included:


Ernest (a musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest), 1984

As If (an original comedy revue with music), 1985

I.D. (a play about identity in sketches and songs), 1986

Two for the Show (a comedy about a comedy about comedy), 1988

Very Truly Yours, Gilbert & Sullivan (a biographical drama-with-music), 1996

Baseball, Sex and Other Facts of Life (an original comedy revue with music), 1997

Ernest (Off-Broadway at the Jose Quintero Theater), 2000

A Gilbert & Sullivan Christmas Carol, 2001

Pigeons, Popes & Pollution: The Songs of Tom Lehrer, 2008.


The company is currently producing the touring program Tennessee Walt’s The Other Great American Songbook.
